Exhibitions The Aviation Museum of Kentucky has a 12,000 square foot indoor exhibit area as well as several aircraft located in an outside exhibit area. The museum also features traveling exhibits and displays through out the year. Take a look to see what some of the items the Museum has to offer.

Hours The Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 to 5, and on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter.
In the event of snow or other inclement weather, we will close if the Lexington/Layette County school district closes.

From time to time, the museum may be closed for special functions or other special circumstances. Please check back prior to your visit, if we plan to be closed, we usually will have a notice on this site to indicate that a we are closed during what would be our normal hours.

Children (0-5 years) and Members - Free
Children/Youth (6-16 years) - $4.00
Adults (17-59 years) - $7.00
Seniors (60+ years) - $5.00
Museum members are always free

Tours Museum Docents can provide guided tours as well as Self-guided tours are available with volunteer docents located throughout the Museum. Please allow approximately 1-2 hours for your visit.

Group tours Group tours must be registered two weeks in advance and be a minimum of ten people in order to qualify for the group rates. Please call us at 859-231-1219 to schedule your group. Our staff is ready to answer all your questions, and to make your experience with all of us, enjoyable, at the Museum.

School Groups The Aviation Museum of Kentucky has interactive, hands-on exhibits, and is an excellent way to take learning out of the classroom. We invite you to bring your class on a field trip to our museum and explore the artifacts, documents, art and historic architecture up close. Docent-guided and self-guided tours are available, and our tours can be adapted to any special needs that your group has. Please call us at 859-231-1219 to schedule your group.

Parking Daytime parking is free and available for automobiles parking during Museum visits. Due to construction that is occurring next to the Museum, parking for motor home and bus may be limited. You will need to park on the Hanger Drive during this construction period.

Pets/Animals Service animals are the only animals permitted in the Museum.
