Aerospace Composite Solutions

2025 Achievement Award

A bold vision took flight in Morgantown, Kentucky, in 2009, with the founding of Aerospace Composites Solutions (ACS). At a time when composite materials were reshaping aviation, ACS embraced the future—harnessing the lightweight strength of carbon fiber to deliver components that would transform the aerospace industry. That vision reached a defining milestone in 2025 with the opening of ACS’s $18 million, 150,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. Designed for precision and growth, the new plant showcases Kentucky innovation at its finest, where engineering designs are transformed into mission-ready components serving aviation, defense, and global
firefighting operations.

ACS is more than a manufacturer. Their engineers provide design-for-manufacturing expertise, helping customers bring visions to life with greater efficiency, quality, and dependability. From fuselages and wings to advanced defense systems, ACS demonstrates how composites are revolutionizing flight—lighter, stronger, and more durable than ever before.
What truly sets ACS apart is its people. By hiring with a focus on work ethic, the company has built a loyal, high-performing team with an extraordinary 8% turnover rate, compared to an industry average of 45%. Students who begin as co-ops rise into leadership roles. Second-generation employees proudly join the ranks. A culture of trust and opportunity keeps young talent rooted in Kentucky while creating pathways for long-term careers.
Through partnerships with local schools, the University of Louisville, and the Kentucky Manufacturing Extension Partnership, ACS is also helping to shape the next generation of aerospace professionals. Their success proves that when innovation, dedication, and
community support come together, even a small town can achieve global impact. At its heart, ACS remains a story of people, building a future in which Kentucky craftsmanship helps power the skies.
