Kentucky Aerospace Education Center Appoints Tristen Chesser as Executive Director

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June, 2026) — The Kentucky Aerospace Education Center (KAEC), home of the Aviation Museum of Kentucky (AMK), has appointed Tristen Chesser as Executive Director.

Chesser joined The Aviation Museum of Kentucky in October 2024, serving most recently as Marketing & Development Manager. She has supported organizational operations, event planning, donor engagement and day-to-day administrative leadership while helping advance
KAEC’s corporate transition. Prior to joining KAEC, Chesser worked in sales and logistics roles, developing experience in client relations, communication and strategic coordination.

“We are excited to welcome Tristen into this leadership role during such a transformative moment for KAEC,” said Ron McBride, President. “Her familiarity with the mission, passion for community engagement and ability to build strong relationships make her an excellent fit to help guide KAEC into its next chapter.”

As Executive Director, Chesser will lead KAEC’s continued growth as the organization expands its focus on hands-on STEM learning, aviation education and workforce pipeline development across the Commonwealth. Her leadership comes during a significant period of momentum for the organization, including new exhibits, expanded programming and plans for a future facility at a more prominent location on Blue Grass Airport property.

“I’m honored to step into this role at such an exciting time for KAEC,” said Chesser. “This organization has an incredible opportunity to inspire future generations through aviation and aerospace education while strengthening workforce pathways throughout central Kentucky. I look forward to continuing to build relationships with our supporters, partners and community as we grow this vision together.”
