Aviation Museum of Kentucky Triumphs Again in the 2023 Best of Lexington Contest

The Aviation Museum of Kentucky has again won in the highly anticipated Best of Lexington contest. Organized by the Lexington Herald-Leader newspaper, this prestigious annual event celebrates the city’s finest businesses, attractions, and organizations as chosen by the readers and residents of Lexington.

In 2022, the Aviation Museum of Kentucky clinched the top prize for the best museum, marking a remarkable achievement in its inaugural contest year. The first edition of the contest saw over 3,000 participants vying for recognition across 215 diverse categories, with an astonishing 137,000 votes cast, underscoring the emotional support of the community for their beloved local establishments.

Building upon the resounding success of its debut, the Best of Lexington contest returned in 2023 with even greater participation and enthusiasm. This year, 220 categories awaited contenders, and a staggering 182,000 votes were cast, reaffirming the significance of this community-driven initiative.

The Aviation Museum of Kentucky continued its triumphant journey in 2023, securing victory in not one but two subcategories within the Things to Do category. The museum proudly clinched the prestigious GOLD award for BEST MUSEUM, recognizing its exceptional display of historical, scientific, artistic, and cultural artifacts. Moreover, it secured the BRONZE award for BEST FAMILY ATTRACTION, a testament to its commitment to providing an enriching experience for visitors of all ages.
