The Twenty-Sixth Annual Hall of Fame Enshrinement ceremony will occur on October 22, 2022, in Lexington, Kentucky. The Class of 2022 includes:
Phillip “Jack” Baugh Jr – Retired from the Air Force in October 1962 with the rank of Captain. He had a love of flying, and in particular, gilding and sailplanes. He was instrumental in ensuring in the development and production of Leonard Niemi’s Sisu 1A sailplane. The plane captured the world’s free distance record of 1,000 km (646miles).
Michael “Mike” Collins – With his work with AOPA, wrote thousands of articles covering various aviation-related subjects, from general aviation aircraft and equipment to pilot training and evaluating FAA regulatory policies and procedures.
Joyce McClendon Evans – As a Biomedical Senior Research Associate, she has helped to make pioneering discoveries about the effects of space travel on the cardiovascular system. She has studied the effects of fluid in the human body during weightless space travel.
The 2022 Aviation Achievement Award will be presented to ASR-Pioneer. Located in Nicholasville, KY, the have been developing aerospace products for over 80 years, their products are used by companies worldwide and range from life-saving devices to components integral to system testing and operation.
The Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame has recognized honorees since 1996 for their contributions and achievements in aviation and aerospace. Those honored represent a wide range of military and civilian pilots, scientists, administrators, and corporate leaders and companies
